Popeye is a fictional character created by the American Elzie Crisler Segar in 1929 for his comic strip The Thimble Theater. His first appearance is in the daily strip of 17th January 1929.
A rough and touchy sailor but generous and loyal, gifted with extraordinary strength, he became one of the emblematic characters of American popular culture following the cartoon adaptations from 1933.
We had to pay tribute to the most famous sailor, an icon of POP culture who left his mark on more than one generation.
The statue represents Popeye crushing a can of spinach in order to make it his snack and thus see his strength increased tenfold to fight against his lifelong rival. On his boat in the image of his two loves (Olive or Spinach) he sails to quickly return to port and fight with Brutus.
